Nice one Mr. Mogie. I hope this is not auto-biographical. What is that line? "Drive like a sinner just stretched out on a cross"? And your crackily, crappy voice is getting less crappy. Just kidding.
Ahh, gee, thanks for the left handed (back-handed?) compliments. The line is actually: Dried like a sinner just stretched out on a cross/baked in the desert that even god forsook"
The song is not auto-biographical at all. It started off as Lonesome Highway Blues and generic open-road type of song. I don't like to say that a song is about this or that specifically because I like people to bring their own interpretations to them. I will say it was inspired by a trip to Las Vegas.
That's real nice, Morgan.
ReplyDeleteThanks

Las Vegas. I think I get it now. I like the line about the scrawny 3rd world dogs lusting after girls.
ReplyDeleteclassic shit man.
worthy of a david lynch soundtrack. submit it to sons of anarchy, and/or hell on wheels, walking dead...
ReplyDeleteDon't know Hell On Wheels or Walking Dead. Thanks for the comment Regis.
ReplyDeleteNice lyrics, and very, very sad guitar at the end. Tears and despair.
ReplyDeleteAnd that very last chord has something tricky going on.
Deleteit's an Am add9. it would be played as X07500
