The Swinging Creeper
Pedal Pusher
We feature today both sides of one of their lesser known singles: The Swinging Creeper and Pedal Pusher released on Dolton Records in June of 1965. It's just enough fuzz to make the cool cats over at Surfadelic stand up and take notice. But not so much fuzz that you can't see the peach that are the songs. A little organ thrown in for good measure and a crap load of cool melody.
Until next time, we'll see you On The Flip-Side!
Wow! Now that's 2-sider! These two appeared first on "Walk, Don't Run Vol. 2" in '64. but in slightly different versions, and then The Swingin' Creeper was The Creeper. Well, there's some kinda confusion, 'cause there's another different tune, famous The Swingin' Creeper on "Guitar Genius of the Ventures". What about that? Anyway, The Ventures fuzz sounds cool and predates those of Davie Allan & the Arrows. Dig!
ReplyDeleteI can always count on you to DIG up all the iterations of a song. Dig indeed.
DeleteAnd yeah, first heard The Creeper as a cover on GREAT The Bomboras instro. Lp "It Came From Pier 13". Check it out!
