Original Song Project: "A Wake For Seamus", The Pygmy Ponyz

Scant little known about this band that comes from New Orleans, Louisiana other than the song they have submitted here and a handful of mostly inappropriate pictures they sent along with the music file. The band goes by the name of the Pygmy Ponyz and their submitted song is entitled A Wake For Seamus. It's a nice little instrumental with celtic influences.

Cheers and keep 'em coming.

  1. I want this to play over the credits at the end of my life.

Any info available on the two inch tall photographer who got that shot?

  2. Just maybe the two inch photographer is the inspiration for the name Pygmy Ponyz.

  3. Hey that's nice! Any idea of the instrumentation? It sounds like 2 maybe 3 guitars and a harmonica to me and the prominent guitar sounds like a steel guitar. I really like that lilting interlude.

  4. You're insightful Mr. Hayden. I assumed it was a banjo playing the simple lead but I just emailed "pony 3" and he said you are correct: "Yeah Morgan, you're friend has quite the ear. It is an old National Resonator that I often like to play while riding low atop my pygmy pony down Bourbon Street whilst I wear an old Yugoslavian game warden outfit I found at a local thrift store. Sometime the weight of myself and the resonator will buckle poor little Papoosa's legs and we go straight to the ground. Luckily those resonator's can take a good old banging. Kinda like Papossa herself. There are two other acoustics and a harmonica. Cheers, mate."

  5. So, was Seamus a pony? Regarding the story of the game warden outfit, I do believe I've seen you in NoLa. I hope that pony likes bushy mustaches. (am I right?)
